Minutes of the September 1 , 2019 meeting of the Michiana Bonsai Study

Present:    Larry Benjamin, Ann Bridger, John Deguara, Mary Hesser and Wanda Walker (& family)

Location:    Home of Larry Benjamin

Program:

The day started with showers and it was still overcast when the meeting started. But, there

were no more showers and, by the end of the meeting, we were greeted with blue skies and a

beautiful day. The meeting commenced with some observations of Larry's trees - particularily

a few of his latest acquistions. Then, we did some work on our trees. Wanda assisted Mary with

some ideas for her Ficus benjamina. John brought a black pine which Larry helped him move

into a larger training pot. Then, Larry did some much needed trimming of his bald cypress.

Wanda brought flats of Serissa and pomegranate which she generously offered to those in

attendance. Finally, we adjourned to the Benjamin dining room for some snacks. Larry's wife,

Rose, provided her chocolate zucchini cake, Ann had brought some lime shortbread cookies, and

John some Iowa cookies which we ate with slices of peaches that Mary brought. All of this was

washed down with lemonade and some fine conservation.
