Minutes of the September 13, 2015 meeting of the Michiana Bonsai Study

Program:

This was a "BYOT" ( bring your own tree ) event. John had a nice size, collected juniper which he pruned. Larry brought what he thought were two trees he had purchased from Weigerts last winter: a tiger bark Ficus as well as a Bougainvillea. Both were in plastic nursery pots. Larry had brought several pots from which to choose and the first task was to pick which pot for which plant. It turned out that the Bougainvillea was actually two trees, so three pots were needed. When the choices were made, the Ficus and two Bougainvilleas were potted (with help from John).

In addition to the work on trees, John showed everyone his trees. And, those present got a chance to borrow some of the bonsai magazines that Larry had brought to the meeting. All in all, the meeting turned into an educational, as well as productive, event - certainly in keeping with our club's name.
