Minutes of the October 6, 2019 meeting of the Michiana Bonsai Study

Present:    Larry Benjamin, John Cervoski, John DeMaegd, Cassie Eberly, Mary Hesser,

Bob Mortenson, Faye Mortenson, and J.D. Nafziger 

Location:    Home of John DeMaegd

Program:

        The bulk of the meeting was spent touring John's collection of bonsai. As we did, John

gave us information about the trees, includiing their origin, history, and development. Then

around 3:20, John's wife, Gwen, brought out a big dish of delicious apple crunch and a tray of

brownies. We washed these down with either water or coffee - a great snack!

Finally, a couple of us got around to working on trees that we had brought. Larry trimmed

a Portulacaria afra while Bob styled his Bougainvillea. Both were assisted by welcome suggestions,

primarily from John Cervoski.

Conversation continued well past 4:00 PM and we finally began to head for home around 4:45 PM.

Before people departed Larry reminded everyone of the November meeting (November 10) which

will start an hour earlier than usual (1:00 PM) because lunch will be provided by the hosts (Larry

and his wife, Rose).
