               Minutes of the November 15, 2015 meeting of the Michiana Bonsai Study

Present:     Larry Benjamin, Rose Benjamin, Greg Campbell, Sylvia Campbell, John DeMaegd,

   Kathy Lee, Jeff Moore, Bill Osborne, and Norma Osborne

Program:

            After socializing and taking a look at Larry's collection of exotic animals and bonsai, we took time to eat lunch. The menu included: appetizers of bacon-wrapped stuffed dates, cheese-topped potato skins, a veggie plate with Beau Monde dip, and a fruit plate.  Main course items included pulled pork sandwiches, tomato bisque soup, and Rose's homemade chili and butternut squash soup. Desserts offered choices of rosemary-chocolate cookies from Kathy Lee and Larry's fudge and lemon bars. Following lunch we viewed a ~ 40 minute video that Larry made of the Merritt Lake bonsai collection in Oakland, California. Before leaving Larry pointed out the unique opportunity available to members this coming spring (May 12 - 15): the American Bonsai Society / Michigan All State Show at Meijer Gardens in Grand Rapids, Michigan, encouraging everyone to reserve these dates on their calendars.
