Minutes of the May 1, 2022 meeting of the Michiana Bonsai Study
Present:
Larry Benjamin, Diane Buday, Lisa Chilik, John Deguara, Bill Lee, Susan Lee,
Location: Home of Larry Benjamin, Bristol, Indiana
Program:
Although it wasn't exactly "warm", we met on the patio at Larry's house. Six of us re-potted trees. Wanda started out by first doing
a little pruning and then re-potting a citrus tree with a nice trunk and good movement. Diane brought two of the teees that she had purchased
at our club meeting at Linton's last year. She put one, a Mugho pine, into a bonsai pot. (She decided to re-pot the other, later, at home.) John
re-potted a root-over-rock trident maple. Bob re-potted a little conifer. Al worked on a Shefflera. Lisa re-potted two trees - a willow and a bald
cypress. Eddie brought a tree that he is creating by fusing a bundle of maple whips into a tree with a good-sized trunk. However, it was fine in
its growing pot for now.
About a half hour before the meeting concluded we enjoyed a double treat. Lisa brought skewers of fruit and cheese as well as cupcake=
sized cheese cake with fruit on top. And, as an added (surprise) treat, Wanda treated us to some Swedish meat balls that her husbond, Dave, had
made. All were delicious!
