Minutes of the July 7, 2019 meeting of the Michiana Bonsai Study

Present:    Larry Benjamin, Mary Hesser, and Ann Bridger

Location:    Home of Larry Benjamin

Program:

     Neither Mary or Ann brought trees to work on. So, they observed Larry prune off some

of the branches on a Japanese maple, cork bark elm, and Amur maple forest which had

been sent out as new growth while he was on vacation. Then, they took a break to eat

some cranberry - pumkin bread from Larry's wife, Rose, along with some lemonade to

wash it down.

     Discussion included a reminder from Mary that our club is scheduled to put on a display

and demonstration of bonsai at the Elkhart County Fair at 3:00 and 5:00 PM in the Ag building

on Tuesday, July 23. Any member who can do so is encouraged to participate.

     Finally, Larry told Mary and Ann that our club is invited to attend the Fort Wayne

club's annual auction and picnic on Saturday, July 20. And, our August event is the Chicago

bonsai show.
