Program: Video (DVD) on bonsai repotting
Business: We discussed plans for upcoming Michiana Bonsai Study meetings.
Feb. Larry reported that he had been in contact with Paul Weishaar in Indianapolis
(a former member of the Wellfield club) who has presented programs on choosing
a pot for your bonsai. Those present agreed that bringing Paul up for our Feb. meeting
would be an appropriate use of our funds. Larry will go ahead and contact Paul.
March We are still on track to make hypertufa pots (at Linton's). A list of materials to bring
will be sent out in February.
April John reported that he had been able to get the go-ahead for specimen collecting
in April (the 15th) the site of an old nursery near North Liberty. To respect the privacy
of the owners, we will meet in North Liberty (the site will be disclosed later) and drive
in a "caravan" to the collection site. Also, we will each need to bring our own snack
and/or beverage choices.
May - November No changes to what is posted on our "Local Events" web page .. as yet.
(Larry will be checking with the Ft. Wyne club to see if we can co-sponsor a
workshop by Andy Smith dealing with conifers in June.)
