Minutes of the April 7, 2024 meeting of the Michiana Bonsai Study

Present:    Ben Auber, Larry Benjamin, John Cervowski, Lisa Chilik, Amada Corda, John DeMaegd, Pat Guido,

                      Steve Hage, Mary Hesser, Janie Minick, Vic Rebman, Brandon Swartz, Wanda Walker and Al Whitfield

Program:

          This was the time, so most members brought trees to re-pot. Lisa, John, Pat, Steve, Mary, Janie, Wanda and Al all

re-potted trees. We were fortunate to have two club past president, John Cervowski (kalamazoo) and Vic Redman (Fort Wayne)

as guests who were able to offer assistance. Club members came away with much improved trees.

      Before the meeting ended we came inside for refreshments, including dark chocolate brownies and Larry's lemon bars.

Members were reminded that next month we meet at the home of John DeMaegd, where more re-potting and tree improvement

can be done. Also, shrtly thereafter, from May 10 -12, members were encouraged to attend the combined American Bonsai Society

Learning Seminars and the Michigan All-State Show where they not only will they be able to see great trees on display but take

advantage of good vendors and even take part in workshops where they can begin to create their own fine trees.
