Minutes of the April 8, 2018 meeting of the Michiana Bonsai Study

                    Before starting to work on our trees we enjoyed Betty's refreshments and "visited".

Larry exhibited his suiseki with the diaza he made for it. Then, we moved from the dining

room into the garage and worked on our trees - mainly repotting them.

Midway through our endeavors Larry held two drawings. The first was to determine whether this

 would be a meeting at which one of the three remaining 2018 giveaway trees was to be awarded. By

this means it was decided that a tree was indeed to be given away. The second drawing, to

determine the winner, resulted in the name of the lucky receipient: Cody Chilson. Cody picked

one of the junipers (see the photo by clicking on Trees on the home page) and, with John's guidance,

did some pruning and wiring on it.

We all had lot to do and it was well after 4:00 when we decided to call it a day. With the late

spring we agreed that we will have plenty to do as we continue our work next month. And, as

everyone was about to depart, Larry reminded everyone that he will report on his trip to the

ABS convention in Collinsville, Illinois, at the May meeting.
